Abstract: This research investigates the influence of socio-economic factors on access to vocational education in Nigeria. Access to quality vocational education is often shaped by socio-economic disparities, impacting individuals' ability to enroll, persist, and succeed in technical training programs. The study aims to (1) identify socio-economic barriers hindering access to vocational education, (2) analyze their impact on enrollment and completion rates, and (3) propose policy interventions to promote equity and inclusivity in vocational education. A survey research design is justified to collect data from students, educators, and policymakers. A sample size of 400 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent diverse socio-economic backgrounds in Oyo State. Case studies will explore institutional practices and community initiatives addressing socio-economic barriers. Findings indicated that financial constraints, cultural perceptions, and geographical disparities significantly affect access to vocational education. Recommendations include expanding scholarship and financial aid programs, enhancing career guidance and counseling services, and advocating for policies that reduce socio-economic inequalities in educational opportunities.
